Parts of speech are the fundamental building blocks of a language, and they help to determine the function of words within sentences. There are 8 parts of speech in English and They are given as below as follows:
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PARTS OF SPEECH
- NOUN: A word that represents a person, place, or thing.
- Ex: Timothee, India, Book
- PRONOUN: A word that substitutes from a noun.
- Ex:he, she, it, they, them
- VERB: A word that expresses an action, occurance, or state of being.
- Ex: run, eat, sleep, walk, become
- ADJECTIVE: A word that modifies or describes a noun or pronoun by specifying its qualities or attributes.
- Ex: beautiful, tall, blue, delicious
- ADVERB: A word that modifies or describes a verb, a adjective, or another adverb, providing information about manner, time, place, degree, etc.
- Ex: quickly, carefully, often, here
- PREPOSITION: A word that indicates the relationship between its object(usually a noun or pronoun) and another words in a sentence, expressing location, direction, time, or manner.
- Ex: in, on, at, under, between
- CONJUCTION: A word that connects sentence indicating relation ship such as addiction, contrast, cause and effecct, or condition.
- Ex: and, but, or, so, and because
- INTERJECTION: A word or phrase used to express emotions, feelings, or reactionsoften occur independently as a standalone expressions.
